I went to the PM minicamp today....

The corners don't suck. They are not supposed to be going for the ball, or really anything but running around and what not. Kinda like blocking dummies for the receivers.

So - the corners never got burned yesterday or today. Judgement must be held...

Also - Hurney and Richardson spent most of the time parked and watching the secondary.

That makes sense. I nearly went into convusions yesterday.

However, our corners could still suck. Better to say the jury is still out on that.

Cousin will be serviceable as a starter. He's going to be interesting, but solid I guess. Jenkins won't be starting IMO, the second round pick at corner will. I feel like we're going to be pretty much locked into that, and should be...the value's there, the talent is there, there should be depth there. The back value at 34 is poor unless Green falls. The need is greater at CB, but I'd welcome Green.

If that happens then we're going to end up with the smaller corners, Bauman, Brown of SoCar, Echols as they just have better value than, say, Lott, Roosie Williams, Goodman of SoCar. Lott I'm souring on because I don't know how well he would work within this particular system.
And if that happens we really don't have any guarantee as to whether or not we'll be getting a long term starter. The deviation on small corners is huge...you can really hit or miss, where big corners are generally more limited but more consistent in what they'll end up producing.

I was there too.....did you see when the OL & DL guys where practicing that they had Louis Williams practicing the shotgun snap to Chris Terry??? I nearly fell over from shock.

I still don't like the corners......

Richardson rode over and spoke to me....he was nice. He also spoke to a guy and some kids. One of the kids had an Antonio Freeman jersey. Richardson told him when he grew out of it not to buy another. ;-)

yeah, Carole told me as such earlier today.
It makes sense. Navies could work weakside, but Towns and Jackson are strongside players. Basically Fields could do either but it's best for the team that Navies have competent backups/competition. If Navies lost the starting job he would be the backup weakside and the nickel guy. Right now it looks like he might be able to win the starting strongside spot and stay for the nickel.

And speaking of LBs......I know someone is going to ask, so here it is. It looked to me like Lester Towns was playing MLB with the 2nd team.

Also......Steve Smith wasn't practicing with the team but he wasn't limping too badly so hopefully he's ok.

I kinda expected that. Now I'd have to imagine that Jackson is strong, Minor weak?

you noticed Williams snapping 'gun. Was anyone else?
happen to notice the OL at all? Was Jeffers or Byrd starting? I don't expect answers for all, but I'm hopeful one or two was noticed. I really oughta have made it out there, and might have had a shot at creds if I'd wanted them but design projects are kicking my butt right now.

Oh, and you can attach those pics here if you want. I don't much feel like joining the Yahoo group right now.

Mostly it was just Williams....they had another center, some guy named Kiernan but he was snapping it the old fashioned way. The offense was practicing over on the side of the field where the train tracks are so it was hard to watch but I did look over at one point when they had three WRs in.....Moose & Jeffers lined up on the same side.....with Byrd out by himself.

As far as the pics......they're too big to upload here. I don't know much about digital pics except how to snap them. The one I tried was 179 KB and the max on here is 50 KB.

If someone knows how to change that......they can have at it. I'll email them.

Nope - Minor Strong, Jackson weak.

Moose and Jeffers were the top 2 corners.
