This book is reading like the calm before the storm. It could do with a little less Cersai though.

 

Yep, he is setting up explosions from the Iron Islands and Dorne so far. Waiting for the Aerie(sp?) next.

 

Right, and we haven't even seen half of the POVs yet. Wish part two wasn't so far away. Seems like he's had more than enough time to release the second within 6 months.

 

I never read the lst 100 pages of the last book.

I read a review where there is no Tyrion and no Jon Snow in this book - must be saving them up for the next one.

Is there supposed to be one more installment after this or is that still up in the air?

 

Jon Snow I can understand because he won't talk about the North or the East in this one, but not Tyrion, unless he fled to the East or North, hmmmmmmmmm

7 books to complete the story now with this of course being the 4th.

 

If Martin becomes a Robert Jordan windbag with this book then he can fuck right the fuck off. He was dangerously close in the back half of the last one.

What is it with epic fantasy writers and their 4th or 5th books? Is that the point when the publisher intervenes with dollar signs in his eyes and says, "let's stretch this sucker out, $$$baby$$$!!"

 

Rumor has it the Tyrion is fleeing to Danny (Dragon Queen) with Varys which is why he is left out. Don't know though. The publisher didn't like the size of his manuscript so they made him split the POVs in half. The recap might go:

"People moved around in a world without fast travel and cell phones, got older, and entered into a montague of training (visualize Rocky)."
