    Interesting spin or no spin...

The following pieces of propoganda that just happen
to be true -- and which illustrate that the Atlantic 10 is not only a much stronger conference than what the new Conference USA will look like, but that the Atlantic 10 is very similar/comparable to Conference USA as we now know it.

1.) Over the last six years, Conference USA has earned 37 NCAA units (for men's basketball post-season play). The Atlantic 10 has earned 36.

2.) Last year, the Atlantic 10 was rated #9 in conference RPI, slightly behind #8 Conference USA

3.) A three-year average of conference RPI's reveal that both the Atlantic 10 and Conference USA rate an identical 8.66.

4.) While the new Atlantic 10 will have eight teams rated in the Top 100 RPI (using last year's numbers), the new Conference USA will have only three.

5.) A look at the RPI comparisons between New Atlantic 10 and current Conference USA reveals that both leagues have the same number of Top 100 RPI teams (8), nearly the same number of Top 50 teams (A-10: 3; C-USA: 4) and the same number of Top 20 teams (2).

I don't think its spin. I truly believe the A10 and CUSA have been identical the last 5 years. And I damn sure know the new A10 is far better hoop wise than the new CUSA. At least Memphis now has a shot to go to the NCAA more than once per 8 seasons.

Also keep in mind that if I've done my math right, 35 of those 37 units were earned by schools leaving.

Not only have you done your math right, but according to your photo under your signature, you whacked your sausage correctly, too!
