Well, I haven't seen much about the expansion lately, but everybody at the other board seems pretty confident we are going to the A-10.

From the Cincy Enquirer:A-10 poised for expansion

I'll accept that deal for the 49ers. I see nothing but positives for this alignment.

................."Said University of Dayton athletic director Ted Kissell, whose school is an Atlantic 10 member: "We like what we see in Saint Louis and Charlotte."

Kinda refreshing to hear someone show an interest in our school..........not to mention ACTUALLY get the name right.

While its been regurgitated, ad nauseum, over the past months....... I hope the pessimists of the A-10 realize there are FAR WORSE scenarios for the 49ers than what this story implies.

As I've stated before, basketball is the main thing we need a good conference for but we can't overlook what this would do for scheduling of the other sports at UNC Charlotte. For example, there certainly are enough programs in NC/SC/VA and in this region for say baseball and volleyball for us to fill out competitive schedules.

I think it's the best offer we'll have and expenses for baskeball travel should be less (more money in general for athletics then?) they currently are for C-USA. The drawback would be less exposure nationally and more in the Northeast (which might not be all bad).
