    I have 98 at home and can not do certain things due to the lack of "security" with 98. I really do not want to have to buy another operating system. Any suggestions?

    linux free distrib. Downloadable. Gnome or KDE or whatever interface they are using these days.

    Otherwise, you gotta pay man. 98 is ancient. XP w/ SP1 is only $80 @ newegg.com, and it's a much more stable & fully featured OS.

    theres very little microsoft stuff but lots of corel and other apps. also openoffice has a free linux distribution that is a clone of office 2000.
