My GF reminds me of that song "1985". She's a major metal hairband freak. Still is to be honest. She knows a bunch of those songs word for word.
Somw weird band will come up, and ill say, who the hell are these freaks. She'll give you the low down, where they're from, where she was back then. Porbably saw the band at some club years ago.

I guess we didnt quite get into the hair-metal scene back in the UK like you guys did. Our music was going a different route.

There is nothing metal about 80's metal. It reminds me of today's radio country.

I can listen to Iron Maiden, Judas Preiest, some Antrhax, Metallica etc.

Not too familiar with Tesla but I would say the others were just jumping on the end of the classic 70's rock thing.

Queensryche kicked Maiden and Priest's ass. Sure, Maiden and Priest invented a sound...but Queensryche perfected it. Warning, Rage for Order, Operation Mindcrime, and Promised Land are all "must haves." Empire...great CD, but a little on the poppy side.

Tesla kicks ass. Great White...had a LOT of filler tracks. Never were one of my faves.
