Cars, REO Speedwagon. Even Chicago made a bit of a splash.

it really was kinda awe inspiring to see an all-black rock band back then. Living Colour still kicks it.

    80's...hmm. B-52s

Wow. Lots of good stuff here as far as I’m concerned. I went to a lot of concerts in the 80’s. If a band had a hit and toured between 1985 and 1990, I probably saw them. Some were openers, some were headliners, but I cannot remember a lot of the openers. I loved the 80’s stuff. Lame bands and all. Whoever mentioned diversity is right. Truckload of one-hit wonders in the 80’s.

A partial list….I can’t remember them all and I can’t find my freakin’ ticket stubs. I know I saw more hair bands than I can remember.

Van Halen (5150 tour, not Dave) :(
    Sammy Hagar (pre VH)
    Journey (twice)
    REO Speedwagon
    Loverboy
    Bryan Adams (Twice)
    Motley Crue (3 times)
    Ratt
    Poison
    Allman Brothers – Jam session.
The Bangles – Susanna had a skirt on that was SMOKIN’. Ninth row. She was HOT.
Bon Jovi / Cinderella – Cinderella SMOKED Bon Jovi.
Hall and Oates / General Public
Morris Day / Lisa Lisa / The group with Babyface (name?) – Front row. The only white guy for as far as I could see. This was one great party. Lisa Lisa has very large breasts too.
Chicago – You’d be surprised how good these guys were in concert.
Whitney Houston – This was before she became the world’s first anorexic pothead.
    The Outfield
Billy Ocean – This guy wore a suit in 100 degrees at Carowinds and never slowed.
Sting – Dream of the Blue Turtles tour. But he did a lot of The Police stuff too.

Drawing a blank now….but I would like to see (or wanted to see): The Police (never happen), Van Halen w/Dave (forget that too), Prince, REM.

You probably could not get me to go to a concert at gunpoint now. I saw most of these bands for under 20 bucks.
