You could make a case for the good value Kalil pick because Hartwig had some durabilty issues, and Hangartner was there but unspectular, but where does Conner fit in?

Can we return Landon Johnson for a refund?

This pick makes NO sense to me, especially with some decent DT's of good value on the board. Another freaking linebacker?

For the record, LOVE the player...HATE the pick!!!:SCF-HL:

We all joked we would pick a LB, but damned if I thought these assholes actually would. Where is he going to get on the field? He's a MLB and we already got Beason. We have so many LB's its not even funny. He'll play special teams and thats it. Anderson probably won't make the team, but damn. Replace one seldom used LB with another.

He can play inside or out, probably replaces Seward , Anderson, and Shaw (maybe even Diggs) from last years roster and gives us wiggle room in future negotiations

I don't think you can count out the possibility that he starts at MLB and Beason moves back outside. Remember we started with Morgan in the middle and Beason on the outside. Beason-Connor-Davis might be what they have in mind with Landon Johnson as the outside depth and Beason's flexibility to move back to the middle if Connor faulters or gets hurt.

Hah, I was about to say that I saw him starting strongside over the long-term because I just woke up and forgot that TD is there instead of weakside. In any case, he's a real player. I remember noticing him when I was evaluating Posluszny, and while Connor isn't as instinctive, he's big and makes plays. He is good value, and even though I made a joke last night about us spending one of our thirds on a linebacker, I don't hate the pick. It does nothing for us this year, but he's going to be a player down the road.

Yes, you can. Fox would never start Connor over Diggs or Johnson, and Beason was a vastly more effective player at MLB.

Wasted pick imo. He may be a good value at this spot but I can't see where we needed another LB'er myself. Where is he going to play? All three spots are taken and we have decent depth too. I'd rather have seen Cottam TE or Zbikowski (sp-fucking Polacks) S than this pick.

we didn't give Johnson more money than anyone else this year to have him be a backup.

The only downside is that Connor isn't an explosive player. Which is fine, not everyone needs to be, but we'll let a more explosive player walk long-term to make room for him.
