    With 4 and possibly 5 players reaching 500 homeruns this year it begs the question, does 500 homers include automatic induction into the hall of fame? 600 homers is probably gonna end up being the new bar in a decade or two. The 500 club will almost double from 1999 to 2009.

    I don't think it's an automatic ticket anymore. Ten years from now 600 might not even be the magic number.
