Couldn't have said it any better Dukie!

The Heels not only won the NIT - THEY DOMINTATED IT.

They absolutely dismantled Kansas. That was not a fluke by any stretch. We had an extra gear that Stanford couldn't stay with either. This team is legit top 5 IMO. We can beat anyone playing like that and although we played very well last weekend - we are gonna get better as the season progresses.

IMO, Carolina has the top 4 pure talent players found on 1 team. Felton, McCants, May and Williams.

Duke would be second with Duhon, Reddick, Randolph, Jones

However, I will admit... Duke looked pretty good too. Reddick is a very nice talent. The ACC is underated this season. Bigtime underated.

shocker, no slam here, but it's way too early to call anybody a top 5 this year. Well, anybody other than zona from what i can tell. Remember, kansas already has more losses than the whole acc combined. However, it really looks like carolina is a force to be reckoned with. McCants might be gone after this season.

From duke's standpoint, i like what i saw, even if UCLA is shitty. Shav didn't even play much, and nick horvath played as if he wasn't dead. As well as Casey Sanders. If those guys can contribute a solid 10 minutes a game, duke's depth will be alot better than anybody counted on. And, just for blueblood, DUHON IS GOOD.

McCants said BEFORE he attended UNC that when he goes he plans to play 4 years... now anyone can change their mind sure, but his original statement is that he plans to go all 4 years... the fact that he was ranked high academially as well doesn't hurt this basis either.

seems the ABC fans are getting a little scared;)

I hope I'm wrong but I see Ray Ray and McCants here 2 years each. I can't blame them, I'd take that kind of money and run too.

  7. Dukie and all the Heel fans...CONGRATS! May is for real, and McCants & Felton are already acting like Juniors. The freshmen are providing the leadership (yes, and the speed) to bring some glory back to Chapel Hill.

I'd love to see a #1 vs. #2 match-up for the first meeting with Duke.
    :D

If the Heels can stay healthy, they'll be giving many teams headaches. The ACC is back in a big way.

May is the closest to an NBA caliber guy ATP. Felton needs to show he can shoot to be a legit top 5er and McCants must learn to play the two in the pros. I think he can do it - but he must be able to stay with smaller quicker twos.

May is exactly what you look for in a pro PF. Big, wide with good athleticism and touch. He will go real early whenever he comes out.

may looks too slow to me, or at least from what i've seen. Things change when money starts coming at you, or if you win a national title (see mike dunleavy). I'm not afraid, i'm just saying that mccants looks good enough to get some nba attention.

Losing players early has always been a problem for Carolina fans, we're used to it. The potential loss of any of these three would be compounded by the fact that we have no Junior, and Senior class right now. However, although I think these guys do view the NBA as a possibility in the future there are weaknesses and position strengths that must be gained by each before they are ready to go. McCants has a height problem and very much reminds me of a more athletic Miles Simon from Arizona a few years back - excellent player but undersized. Felton is also smallish at only 6'0 - also needs to be able to hit the jumper. May is the only one probably ready but could use college to get into better shape. McCants, and May are probably more than one year wonders based on comments made in the past, and the importance of acacemics to both. Felton, OTH, could be gone after two years. We really only need them to stay around for two. By that time recruiting will have established a solid talent pool.
