You can do either a B.S. or a B.A. The B.S. is more appropriate because the geograohy concentrations deal with Urban Planning , GIS or Economic Geography. The B.A. is really only good for getting your teaching degree along with it or doing a double major, but there really aren't positions for geography teachers in high school or below.

Good to see a fellow B.S. Geography. I wonder if the department changed much in 10 years. Still considered one of the best nationally?

I don't think it has changed too much, many of the usual suspects are still there. I never saw any rankings for geography departments, but just from going through the program I know it is very good, but not as geography like that other programs are. More of a concentration in planning and GIS, which is good, because they are more practical applications of geography.

I'm at Rutgers now for my Masters in City Planning and I have met geography majors from Rutgers, Vassar, University of Chicago and some other highly touted schools, and the UNCC program is not lacking at all, and may be even better IMO.

Gutter, we are renegades from a CUsa web site where you are only supposed to be positive and not objective. A few of the big Niner fans have been here before, but HighPOint's banning from cusa-talk.com lead to Metro freaking out and getting banned, and everybody filling up this non-POm-pom site.

I should graduate in fall 2004, BA in Middle School Education.
