WITH THE RECRUITMENT IMPROVING EVERY YEAR, 49ER BASEBALL IS BECOMING A NATIONAL POWERHOUSE. with the additions of russ in the future, the 49ers could take the national championship. however, it will be hard to get russ as he will probably go and play for the wake forest demon deacons, his favorite college.

:saywhat: NATIONAL POWERHOUSE? Ummm, are you smoking something? :reb:

    • 2001 Season - 24-31 overall, 10-17 conference
    • 2002 Season - 19-35 overall, 9 -21 conference
    • 2003 Season - 21-28 overall, 11-15 conference
    • 2004 Season (to date) - 20-26 overall, 9-15 conference

I've been around since the first baseball game played at UNCC and never would I have called the baseball teams good except for one or two seasons, much less average. And that pains me as I am a huge supporter of the 49ers overall athletic program. The baseball program just isn't solid. And yes, there have been a few players to play at Phillips Field that have made the pros, they're individuals, not teams. Perhaps Coach Hibbs' teams will be more competitive in the Atlantic 10.

Charlotte won't be competitive until we have a first class stadium, and that probably won't happen until someone like Maine breaks into the big time and gives back to the school.
