Well, isn't one of the inputs occupied by whatever the signal is coming from ie.. cable/satellite etc? That leaves just one. It seems to expand in the future one would need more than just one extra input.

I only need 1 HDMI for my TV the way its currently set up and I've got a Wii, and PS3, a HD DVD player and a XBOX 360 all hooked up to it.

The snarky answer is that you don't need HDMI for much of anything.

But it's important to understand that you can get as good of a picture from component cables.

I use both of my HDMI slots, one for HD DVD, but the other is kinda unnecessary - I have a DVI-HDMI cable connecting my computer. I rarely use it (42" monitor FTW?) cause it makes me dizzy to look at.

I have TimeWarner's HD Box & my 360 hooked up via Component cables for video and TOSLink optical for sound. I get superior performance for both than I would via HDMI.

HDMI is better for picture. Not much but it is better, but I agree about the TOSLink. I use that even though the HDMI is capable of it.
