4 PANTHER FANS VIOLATED AT NFC TITLE GAME

SUBJECT: Four Panther fans have their RIGHTS VIOLATED at LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD at NFC TITLE GAME


This past weekend my three friends and I went to Philadelphia for the NFC title game. We are each college students and we spend a large sum of our net worth to attend the game. This includes spending $1820 for four tickets, $130 for a hotel room, and expenses that would occur on a 860 mile round trip car ride. My father is a Personal Seat License holder for the Carolina Panthers and has been since the inaugural season. Between the four of us, we have seen 23 games this season, collectively.

Let me start our by saying we were warned REPEATEDLY about the Philadelphia fans. I REPEAT, WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE GETTING INTO BY GOING TO LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD AS PANTHER FANS.

We intended on going to the game fully clothed in Panther gear. We rode the subway to the stadium and began to feel the harassment. BUT, it was all in good fun…Philly fans said their jeers, we said ours, and we laughed it off. This continued to the walk to the stadium. Philly fans would chant “ASSHOLES” and we would laugh it off, and both sides were having a good time. ONCE AGAIN, WE EXPECTED THIS TREATMENT.

My friends and I were having the time of our life. We were at the NFC TITLE GAME. We were a little late to our seats because we could not find them. We were finally seated about a minute into the first quarter. We were really hearing the harassment now. BUT IT WAS STILL ALL IN GOOD FUN. We were heavily outnumbered and didn’t even whisper the simplest obscene gesture towards an Eagle fan.

THEN THE PANTHERS SCORED AND THE EAGLES FANS GOT MORE AGGRESSIVE. We began to have beer, peanuts, etc. thrown at us from all directions. From out of nowhere the event staff GRABBED US AND JERKED US OUT OF OUR SEATS. We had no idea what was going on. The event staff told us they were relocating us to club seats were we would be safe. We followed the event staff around for TWO QUARTERS WHILE THEY DID NOTHING!!! They were just giving us the runaround.

At this point we were getting agitated because of how much it cost for us to get here, and how we couldn’t watch the game. The stuck us next to some monitor and told us they were looking for our seats. THE POLICE WERE JUST LAUGHING AT US AS FANS WERE SHOUTING AT US.

ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE OF MY FRIENDS GETS HANDCUFFS THROWN ON HIM! My friend is stunned saying, “What is going on?” The policewoman pointed to a woman holding her stomach with her boyfriends arm around her. The policewoman said he hit her in the stomach!
LET ME GET THIS POINT STRAIGHT…MY FRIEND DOESN’T HIT GIRLS, AND HE DIDN’T HIT THAT GIRL!!! WE HAD NEVER EVEN SEEN HER! AND IF HE WERE TO HIT HER, WHICH HE DIDN’T, WOULDN’T HER BOYFRIEND HAD DONE SOMEHTING!!?!? They took my friend to stadium jail and told us they where going to get us our club seats.

NOTHING EVER HAPPENEND. The fourth quarter expired and we didn’t see anything of the game beyond the first quarter.

THIS IS A TOTAL OUTRAGE. We spent too much money to see this game and all we got was beer thrown on us, a friend FRAMED AND THROWN IN JAIL, and a DAMNED BOX SCORE!!!! The Philly cops at the stadium are CORRUPT, the event staff is WORTHLESS, and the fans have NO CLASS.

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR, “WELL, THAT’S PHILLY” OR “WELCOME TO PHILLY”, OR “SHOULDN’T HAVE WORN PANTHER CLOTHING”

That is an OUTRAGE! The league is crooked if you cannot go to an away game and support your team by wearing their logo. It is the venues job to ensure safety for all their fans, home or away. If they can’t do that, then they should be penalized by the league. If the league agrees that we “Should have been more careful by not wearing our gear” then it is a crooked league and it is a DAMNED SHAME.

Anyone with any decency would agree that we should be compensated. All I have from that game is a box score, a hatred for Philadelphia, and a bad time.

WE WANT OUR STORY HEARD! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

I wouldn't have worn a Panthers jersey.

 

Change the opening from rights being violated (it's been overdone which is unfair to those that actually have their civil rights violated). Also the comment regarding compensation needs to go. Play up the poor college student angle then send it to the league, Philly papers, etc. Who knows, you may get a favorable response. I don't have one.

i do too. why? he mentions the stadium jail...but from what i saw last week, that was closed down.
