Saw it this weekend. it "looked" cool, but after 5 minutes you get used to it. The story was non-existant and the action was ok but not great.

Was it totally in slo-mo, like the trailers?

there was a LOT of slow-mo. Even worse were the sections of fast-forward mixed in. Less than stellar - particularly since I paid $9 for a matinee.

    Seen it, LOVED it.

I guess its a fine line trying to balance fact and fiction and trying to please an entire audience.

I always find it weird watching a movie that you already know not only the ending to but pretty much the whole story beforehand. I had to try hard to hold my tongue going to this movie with my GF. I didnt want to spoil it for her. Not everybody studied Greek history you know. It was only my own interest that led me to learn about it a few years ago. She was so upset at the end, it was too cute.

And when talking to friends afterwards, some of whom complained about such "cheesy" lines, ie the Queen and her "babies" quote early in the movie, having to explain Laconic wit, that nay, not cheesy, she actually spoke those words. The movie actually used quite a few historic quotes that obviously, those not in the know, found George Lucasy?

Im just glad they didnt go the Alexander route to be honest.
