Hey, I don't like the game myself ('Build me a new stadium/ballpark/arena or else I'm going to move to _________________ ' !!!!!) Publicly financed stadiums have been part of the US sports landscape for over the last 50 years (except for a few stadiums; ATT Park, Dodger Stadium). Hell, even the Cowboys new $1 billion stadium in Arlington is getting most of the funding from the public (with Jerry Jones covering the cost overruns).

30-40 years ago, getting a major league team was a big deal. It was seen as the step up in becoming a major league city. All I'm just saying is that it appears to me that nobody down in Miami is stepping up to the plate politically to say 'Hey, lets build the Marlins a new ballpark and lets do it now!!!!!'. You have Norman Bramman (Ex-Eagles owner) with his lawsuit trying to get the new Marlins Ballpark on the November ballot. Would playing under a roof help Marlins attendance? It probably would, as long as Jeff Loria & Co. promise to spend the money to keep a competitve team on the field. If Miami doesn't want to build the Marlins a new ballpark, that's fine . . . . Some other city will (San Antonio, Portland, etc.)
