McDermott telling reporters today Panthers will look at 3-4 defense in future. I get the temptation, but don't think it's practical.

The more people that get hurt, the better the remaining personnel actually fit that look.

I like the 34 because it tends to stop the run better. And they could mix and match guys like CJ and Hardy, who can play standing up or with their hand down (kinda what they're doing right now).

they can run the 46 but if they can't tackle, it will still suck

Sounds like a desperate move to go to the 3-4 base. There is no personnel to run that either. Bout the best they can hope for is to switch between the 4-3 and 3-4 situationally to keep the offense off-balance.

Tackling sucks league wide lately. It's all this non contact, short wearing practice policy if you ask me.

That and trying to strip the ball every time. First man has to wrap - the second can try for the strip.

it's a changeup, which is fine. Probably gets more beef on the field, the worry is whether that beef is better. At this point, Anderson and Connor are the only linebackers who you would say "should" be on the field over any other player at LB and they don't seem to have an issue with CJ or Hardy outside, so fuck it, make it happen. There was a strong feeling that, without a truncated offseason, we'd be more pro multiple anyway.
