okay, so i'd never watched 24 and enough people talk about it that i figured i might as well use my netflix account to see what the deal is.

season 1 was interesting, but the second half started to get a little stupid. can't remember things right off the top of my head, but there was something every other episode that made me scratch my head and wonder how the writers thought it would fly. but overall, it was decent.

so now i'm watching season 2. and i'm sorry, but elisha cuthbert's character is fucking stupid. hot, certainly, but dumb as a box of rocks. it's almost like she's a danger junkee or something. it's like she tries to figure out the worst possible decision she could make and then makes it.

i realize they need to work her into the story somehow, so they need to spend a portion of each episode keeping her entangled in some ridiculous mess -- she's gotta be part of draw for the show, right? but please. i've only seen the 1st two episodes of season two so far. is this what i should expect from her? episode after episode of her stumbling from bad to worse? i find it rather frustrating. sorta like those movies where the innocent guy is being chased by the cops but invariably ends up in situations where he decides it would be a good move to pull out an assault rifle when turning himself in, or perhaps kidnap somebody important to show that's he's not the guy they think he is.

Yeah she pretty much stumbles through the "DAY", though she ends the "DAY" in an intersting manner. If you can suffer through her foilbles it is a pretty entertaining "DAY". You just have to suspend belief and try not to take the plot flaws too seriously. My $.02

yeah, i figure. i was hoping the first season had some problems and that the 2nd season would iron some of them out. it looks to be just the opposite. rather than being story driven, the thing seems to be gimmick driven and actor driven. gotta keep cuthbert around. gotta make sure she and her dad are both struggling.

the shine is wearing off a bit here... i can suspend disbelief, but i can't pretend i'm stupid. i'll keep watching, but i'm starting to grumble. i'd rather it was just about jack and they'd forget the silliness with his daughter.

Most 24 lovers can't stand Kim. The 2nd season was the worst of the 4 so far, especially when it comes to Kim's part of the story. Season 3 is the best- Kim redeems herself some, and she's not in season for at all (except for one mention of her in one of the first episodes).

yeah, it's a bit silly to keep her involved. i get it the first time -- she was more of a prop to use against the actual main character. but now? christ, she's stupid. now, if they had her in a bikini it'd be one thing... so this last episode she's running around the city trying to find the cops then when the cops are trying to find her (which she somehow picks up on telepathically) she's trying to avoid them.

Kim's plot line in season 2 is pointless, but I'd agree that Season 3 is the best. I'd have to rank them 3,1,2,4. I didn't like the new Season all that much, and I liked all the twists of Season 2. Don't know how far along you are so I don't want to give away any secrets, but definitely don't stop at Season 2. Get Season 3 and you'll be watching it all day and night.

I completely disagree. We were guaranteed at least one scene per hour of Kim running somewhere.:woohoo:
