    The 5th year option thing would be a valid point if the Tepper-owned Panthers had a history of long-range planning and financial responsibility, instead of an embarrassing record of contract mismanagement and money burning.


    I see it as nothing but an excuse for more compulsive behavior. Even if Legette somehow becomes a guy worth extending, the one year of savings isn't an off-season shifting sum of money. It would be like $10 million, the going rate for a quality backup QB.

    This team deserves to be the most lousy organization in this league. And it is. With all the needs, they have a Mingo clone.

    It’s too bad the guy in the pub didn’t break Tepper’s jaw when he removed his hat.
