A win is a win, and Scott Fowler is an irrelevant cuckold.

Going from possibly #3 to #9 or maybe worse is a future loss overall.

Middle of the road teams stay middle of the road.

I did enjoy the win yesterday, tho...but it wasn't impressive and the DC team sucked.

I'm really enjoying Samuel's play and think he's becoming a swiss army knife star- and I love those kinda guys.

Step back off the ledge, we're not building a middle of the road team here. I don't hear Rhule talk about missed opportunities and things being what they are. And this team plays as hard as the first teams John Fox fielded.

With the 9th pick, we should get a star in the making. We drafted Luke with the 9th pick. Drafting is the easy part, it's really about developing your rookies. And based on what I've seen from Brown, YGM, and Chinn we're doing pretty well there. We're even getting quality reps from Pride and Roy. Hitting on your first pick is one thing, hitting on all your day two picks and a couple from day three gets you to winning the division year in and year out.

If you're concerned about missing out on a great QB, don't be. Again, it's all about development. Think Mahomes would have succeeded in Chicago? It's more likely he would be considered a cowboy who turns the ball over too much (his comparison was Jay Cutler, after all). He went to KC and they sat him behind Smith and fixed his bad habits. In the meantime, Trubisky went before him and was thrown to the wolves. Check these profiles out:

And look at how well the next Andrew Luck did in NY. In the meantime, we can easily get someone with the potential of Josh Allen with the 9th pick.

Jacksonville is missing the playoffs next year, even though they're getting Trevor Lawrence. Rookie QBs don't drag their teams into the playoffs, their teams drag them, like Ben Roethlisberger as a rookie. It takes time for them to develop into the guys who can will their teams to victory. The last QB I remember who was able to get his team to the playoffs as a rookie was Andrew Luck, and he did it with a 76.5 QBR. He wasn't good yet, but his team sure was. Lamar Jackson did it a couple of years ago but only started half the games in the season. Again, his team was also stacked.

I don't care about losing draft position, I'm glad we won. Getting that winner's mentality is the hardest thing a team can do, and if we have it then developing a QB will be easy by comparison.

I'm not close a ledge. Wouldn't you rather have the 3rd or 4th pick ahead of Atlanta throughout the draft?

It's not simply about a QB, I don't know past one or two if there's one worthy of first round anyway. It's about the whole draft, imo. Every round in aggregate.

    Aggresome, but not completely.

Is a win against a shitty team or even next week against backups (after what we've already been through this year) really worth the second sentence above? Come April this win or even the next won't matter worth a shit.

Wanting the higher pick requires cheering for the other team, so it's logically untenable. You're no longer a fan of your team at that point. You're just a compulsive scratch-off player wearing NFL licensed merchandise.

The league could solve this problem by reversing the draft order. There's no good argument for giving the best young players to the shittiest franchises.

I never cheered for the DC asshats. I enjoyed the win. I never said I did or didn't, respectively.

Wanting a higher pick after a shitty 2020 does not make anyone 'not a fan'. Wanting a higher pick for the future, is in fact, being a fan. Crimeny.

Okay, but absent a trade the only way to pick higher is to lose your games. You sort of have to pick one or the other.
