Stupid trades are the hardest part to mock but a huge part of accurately forecasting draft picks.

Not counting Lawrence who we wont get, please rank the other 4 QBs in how well they fit in our offense. I dont know why buy Justin Fields scares me.

    1) Wilson--fast processing, very good arm and sneaky athleticism.
    2) Jones--best processing in the draft. Leads his receivers open as well as anyone. Can make all the throws, but his arm isn't the strongest.
    3) Lance--elite physical tools, good understanding of the game and quick decision making. Too often that means either throw or run though.
    4) Fields--elite physical tools, doesn't go through his progressions well, slow reaction time when compared to the other top prospects.

All four of them have potential to become true franchise guys. With that said, Wilson is the most likely to fail to injury, Lance because he's taking a quantum leap, and Fields because he's a touch slow at reacting. Jones needs the right situation, but I can easily see him having a Matt Ryan career.

I think Jones will continue to climb and might be the 2nd QB taken. If many of us are getting that impression then the teams picking ahead of carolina are probably headed that direction too. I’m afraid that moving UP for a QB is the trending move for carolina since options to upgrade TB with a vet are shrinking. It is absolutely the wrong move in my opinion for the panthers to reach for a hyped rook, especially expecting him to start, and end up leading your team. It would be much more understandable to pick a QB at 8 and groom him under a trusted starter for a year. With so many other pressing immediate needs it seems desperate as hell to reach, and cripple future drafts in doing so.

I've seen far too many mocks with lots of trades and QBs going 1, 2, 3, and 4. That's not going to happen, not with talent like Chase, Sewell, Smith, Pitts, etc... on the board. So yeah, there will probably be one available at 8.

I've also seen a ton of mocks where we get Lance. That would make some sense, but boy does the prospect make me nervous.
