Probably wouldn't be my first choice, but I buy the talk that we're looking hard at McCaffrey.

That would make no sense. He's not a great fit for Shanahan and they have bigger needs. I think theysshould consider Lattimore. They could put together a competitive defense relatively quickly if they address cornerback and pass rusher.

By the way, this is a Panthers board. And pay Art his money.

Someone ease my mind on something. I am worried if Fournette is there we take him. Seems like he was injured a lot in college and was worked hard. too hard. I'd be a bit worried that he won't be worth a shit for maybe 2 years. Also, McCaffery is smallish and can not be counted on to be anything more than a Darren Sproles 2.0. At 8? Why not take a more sure thing like a DE or DB (Lattimore if he slides) or try to trade back and get a pick or two

I would love Lattimore. McCaffrey definitely isn't a 30 carry back, but I don't think he's a cupcake either. Stanford ran power with him out of the I. I'd take Fournette because he's a better back and better fit, and then just hope that he stays healthy in the NFL.

The biggest concern for me with Fournette is health. He would be a nice power back for us. He didn't do great out of shotgun in college but we run a lot of power schemes out of the gun. He wasn't nearly as effective last year, so there is legit concern over durability going forward.

Mcaffery ran in a power scheme at Stanford and I think he'd do fine in our scheme. I think he can run it 20 times a game but he might not hold up. But if he ran it 12 times and caught 5 balls and was your PR that is legit contribution.

    Interesting, from twitter

    Panthers (8) are a trade-back possibility if a few guys (i.e. Fournette) aren't there.

.@MikeSilver just reported on "Up to the Minute" @nflnetwork the Browns have talked with 3 teams picking in top-8 about moving up from 12.

Lattimore is a back every team would love to have. But where he will go, we shall see on Thursday.
