Well we do have Bruce "neanderthal" Campbell to fill in for Bell. :cheesy:

Obviously if Star is heatlhy and there...uh yeah. Richardson would be a solid pick. Dude is nasty and plays real hard. WR is ok. We need big nastiest early.

Still, I could see Gettle streaking to the podium for Dion Jordan or Ziggy Ansah if they last.

I'm just glad it appears someone with some knowledge is making the calls now. I like whats going on here so far.

As highly rated those two OG's are, its hard for me to imagine drafting them at 14 makes us drastically better. RG has been a problem but RT is probably a larger one and LT will be within a year or two. Plugging a new starter in at OT,DT,CB or S would seem to be a larger upgrade than RG. So as good as those guards are I find drafting one a luxury that we prolly can't afford.

I personally see fixing RG and RT as a necessity, not a luxury.

I assume the G's would only be an option if all 3 OT's were gone.

A Lane Johnson Jake Long/Brian Schwenke combo would fit the bill quite nicely. Lots of versatility too.

However that creates the problem of having Gross, Kalil, Silatolu and on top of that you're adding another 1st and 2nd rounder. Thats a mighty expensive Oline for the future. As much as id like it I cant really see it.

Oline is a funny thing, its a unit working as one. But a great Oline improves everyone around them, more time for Cam, more time for WR's to get open, bigger holes for RB's to run through and hopefully longer sustained drives for the D to rest. You're probably also drafting a guy that's in on all 3 (4) downs and is crucial to its success. How many targets does a WR see a game? Which is adding more to the team?

Its not sexy, they dont score points and their value is mosty hidden. But Brees success his helped massively by his G play.

And the late minor injuries to Cam in the Raider and Saints game should be of concern to every Panther fan. If he goes down, we're buggered.

Everyone would like to fix RG but investing a top 15 pick is a luxury. That's what I'm saying. And even investing 14 in a good RT might be stretching it. Trading down for Fluker would be reasonable. But again my argument is about value. Not need

I'd like to see us get Sheldon Richardson in the first and Barrett Jones in the second. I like Jones' versatility a lot. If Jarvis Jones falls I could see us taking him though.

I'm not crazy about either of those two. Richardson has a good motor, but I dislike long-legged DTs, especially those without elite strength or athleticism. Then Barrett Jones is indeed versatile but may or may not be more than a backup. Best case, he's a poor man's Kalil. I don't think that addresses RG.

A poor man's Kalil would be our best second rounder in years.

My point was that he's probably not strong enough to play guard effectively. He's best suited to be a center or a backup at all three interior positions.

Point taken. With talks of trading Williams, what do you think of drafting Lattimore late?

trade down trade down trade down and then take all the BPA's

where we have talent, we are elite... but the holes here gapping... bring in a decent supporting cast and we'd have something we could compete w
