Devils Ray . . EEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, R-A-Y-S will continue to suck . . . Marlins will be the worst team in MLB. But they will finally get the state/local funds needed to build their new Ballpark at the soon to be torn down Orange Bowl site :) :) . . . Mets win the World Series in their last year at Shea.

Not bad but I don't see the Mucking Fets winning the east unless they pick up a couple starting pitchers. That choke job last year will be hard to get over IMO.

    A.L. East:
Boston Red Sox - Ridiculously good.
New York Yankees - Pitching will be up and down.
Tampa Bay Rays - They now have the pitching to be competitive.
Toronto Blue Jays- Pitching looks strong, but that lineup is weak.
    Baltimore Orioles - *sigh*

    A.L. Central:
Detroit Tigers - Still some questions in the rotation and bullpen.
Cleveland Indians - Carmona may regress, and Sabathia is their only other strong starter.
Chicago White Sox - I actually like the moves they've made.
Minnesota Twins - They become mediocre once Santana and Nathan get traded.
Kansas City Royals - Still years away.

    A.L. West:
Anaheim Angels - Biggest fish in a small pond.
Seattle Mariners - Pretty solid across the board.
Texas Rangers - Still not pitching.
    Oakland Athletics - Rebuilding year.

    N.L. East:
Philadelphia Phillies - Myers is back where he belongs.
Atlanta Braves - Glavine and James will be important.
New York Mets - Everything changes if they get Santana.
Florida Marlins - They do have talent.
Washington Nationals - I don't like their pitchers or hitters aside from Zimmerman.

    N.L. Central:
Milwaukee Brewers - Now ready for prime time.
Chicago Cubs - Strong lineup, but questions at the back of the rotation.
Cincinnati Reds - The bullpen is improved.
Houston Astros - High profile trades won't make much difference.
St. Louis Cardinals - Pujols, Carpenter, and what else?
Pittsburgh Pirates - Sucks to be a Pirates fan.

    N.L. West:
Arizona Diamondbacks - If Randy Johnson can stay healthy, their staff is awesome.
Los Angeles Dodgers - They have potential across the board.
San Diego Padres - Solid, but they still need more hitting.
Colorado Rockies - Great story but won't repeat.
San Francisco Giants - Potentially the worst lineup in history.

    A.L. MVP - Alex Rodriguez
    N.L. MVP - Chase Utley
A.L. Cy Young - Johan Santana
N.L. Cy Young - Jake Peavy
    A.L. RoY - Evan Longoria
    N.L. RoY - Jay Bruce

I have to say colon....not bad. I don't completely disagree with your predictions. And you made a good point about the cubs having some BIG BIG questions at the back of the rotation, as Dumpster could make Larry Rothschild look like a moron. I hope that the Cubs are able to get a decent free agent pitcher, but who knows.

why? because I picked the cubbies? or because I picked soriano for MVP?

I really think the cubs will win the division, hope Soriano will get MVP and honestly, Fukudome will be the best rookie, probably.

then again....you are right. But how can you be a cubs fan without being disillusioned?

I said "strong," not solid. Byrd is ok and Westbrook is decent, but neither of those guys are anything special. Getting Adam Miller up to the bigs and pitching well would be huge, but I don't see that happening in '08. He'll get there, but probably take some time to adjust. And I'm just not ready to believe in Carmona yet. Hell, you guys better get that Sabathia deal done. If he reaches the open market, you're screwed.
