Stockton is playing like an adolescent, either that or a very old man.

This is probably the NBA at its best tonight. Crisp passes, picks, guys going after the ball. Trying to watch that crap Detriot and Orlando plays is nausiating. Just show me the McGrady highlight reel.

A team like the Kings or even Sacremento is a lot more fun to watch.

got some interesting 1st round series-

blazers-mavs: dirk went ape nuts for 46 on saturday, and the guys just 24!! from the highlights i saw, the game was entertaining. the kings and jazz are traditionally great passing teams.

how bout the lake show drilling the twolves?

suns-spurs evened out at 1-1, after the spurs win 84-76.

hornets-sixers- same ole story for the buggs. play great defense on 11 players, and forget that AI is the poison pill. how can you have stacey augmon guard AI when you have kenny anderson and robert pack on the bench? turnovers, from what i've read, hurt the buggs big time. still, if they slow it down, dont overplay and cut down the turnovers they still have a chance.

celtics shocked me, as did pierce.

Pierce is a gamer, no lead is safe. They got two mature All Star type players, more than the Pacers have. Miller ain't what he once was. Pacers have more depth and athletic ability. I like Artest myself, but I liked the Pistons back in the day. He's got some offensive game if he matures to go with the D. Lambeer knew when the refs weren't looking, that's what Artest needs to figure out.

I swear, San Antonio, year after year, you can see them just choke. They better start hitting 3s before the Lakers come to town, and that's if they dispatch the Suns.

I rarely watch many games during the season. Every once in a while I'd catch a game like Shaq vs Ming, or Lakers/Mavs. Something good. This is always when the real NBA season starts. The other 82 games is just the pre-season.

i agree piper- the marathon aint mean jack till the final stretch. you can see the intensity and the level of play raised, and the body language is all together different.

the c's really disappointed me this season, i expected pierce would really lead this team ala kobe or tracy mcgrady- he had his moments, but he never came out and defiantly stamped his image as the c's. he did that saturday though- 21 of 21 fts, 40 pts. the pacers havent advanced past the 1st round w/ isaiah, just a tidbit.

about artest- he needs to work on finsihing on the fast break and move around the basket w/o the ball more, but he really does have promise. defensively, i love the way he plays- if he polishes up his mid-range and open court game, he's a damn good player.

i really tink SA is going to be alright- they cruised over the last 1/3 of the season, and i dont think they were expecting a dog fight from the suns. well, precept register brain, we gotta series! i see the spurs running straight through the suns and playing the lakers tough- shaq is not as dominating as he was, and that will vie well for david robinson and duncan, the thing is though- kobe is better than he's ever been. if the spurs dont buy into the whole mental game the lakers love to play- i think that series could go 7.

Note to Stockton and Malone. RETIRE ALREADY. At one time, Malone actually ran the break and took more than just 17 foot jumpshots.

The Kings will dispatch both their series quckly, and beat the bejesus out of the winner of Lakers/Spurs.

Out East, Nets work their way through. They are kind of like the Kings. Played off and on all year, cruised, but now it's for real and they'll just out run the competition.

payton showed up tonight and the bucks evened it at 1-1. nets tried to run the bucks out of the gym, the bucks simply ran back at the nets. nets played shitty defense. anyway, did you know the pacer-celtics game was even on last night?? didnt catch it on the tube- what channel was it on? twolves look like they're playing loose- and with shaq coming back from sc, they might have a shot at evening this series up. curious to hear your thoughts on the hornets-sixers for tomorrow nights game 2.

Bucks won't hang with the Nets through 7. Nets are still my pick in the East.

Indy/Celts were on NBATV, DirectTV payper I think.

Baron is hurting=Bugs done. Philly will get through.

Silas is leaving it up to Baron whether or not to play. That's a bad idea. Baron will play if his leg is off, so maybe he should sit this one out to rest up for game 3. It's too hard to guess whether or not he'll play -- do you practice with the idea he'll be in there or not?

I've watched some of the Nets games and I've gotta say -- the Nets get so many calls that I just don't know what to think. Jason Kidd in particular seems to have been anointed God or something. He reaches all the time and no whistle. He moves into and UNDER players and gets the charging call on D. It's ridiculous. The Nets get the benefit all the friggin time. They swipe at the ball every oportunity they can and not one whistle. Refs generally don't whistle reach-ins on contact, they whistle it on the perception of contact (reaches are by their nature just plain hard to see). And yet, the nets don't get called for what other teams would. Bleah.

i've noticed that too, nut. about the buggs- it just seems that the sixers are playing with more passion and larry brown is once again outcoaching paul silas in a playoff series. the hornets have the players from 1-12, silas just cant seem to get the most out of them, even with baron out.
