2003 Mock Draft Site

The more I think about this the Panthers really need to do the following:

1) Acquire a QB. Leftwich would top the list of hopefuls and would make this team a legit contender in the near future. He is that good. I would say the Panthers should do WHATEVER it takes to acquire the #1 pick. First we need to hope the Bungels win some games and are NOT in the #1 slot. Then we need to deal up to get Leftwich. He is the only sure thing at QB (if Manning stays in school as expected).

2) Acquire a #1 WR. Free Agent #1 caliber are as follows: Marty Booker (Chicago), Kevin Johnson (Clev) or possibly Oronde Gadsden(Mia) OR we need to pick a WR in round 2 of the draft.

We have to get quailty guys at those 2 positions to be competitive!!!

All that said...If a quality QB or WR is not worth the pick in the first round - I think I would look at EJ Henderson from Maryland. He seems to be a complete NFL LB. He would add a lot to the defense IMO. Get him and look for Kingsbury, Dorsey or Grossman in round 2 and WR (Gage) in round 3.
