This Mock Draft is about a favorable as the Panthers could hope for IMO although I would want Manning instead of Ragone (see Mock Draft link on left frame)...

Who would you want as a Cats fan?

    1) Manning
    2) Johnson
    3) Sammy Davis or Derrick Dockery

I would quit the season now and take these three guys they gave us if that were possible. I don't think you'll see either of the second two picks available when it gets to that particular point in the draft. I would rate Johnson behind only Rogers at WR right now.

Diddo. If Johnson fell to us in the second - it would be a amazing.
Especially considering that suddenly Washington has some injury issues that may or may not hurt his stock.

Rogers is still tops and Williams will still be picked highly IMO. Johnson and Washington would be the next 2 logically.

I too would take those 3 right now and never complain a bit!

Even if Manning doesn't come out, Ragone would look like a great pick too.

I guess I'm starting to be resigned to the fact that we'll pass on a super-talented receiver for a QB who's rated high because of need. No worry, Ragone isn't bad. Johnson in the second? He's my third rated receiver right now. No way, but okay, hell yeah.
If not Johnson, Rashaun Woods wouldn't be bad. Tony Pashos at RT isn't bad either.

Sammy Davis in the third is a smart pick, TFY noted him as one of the guys who fits better in the cover 2. Still, if we keep Howard, and Wesley's playing well still, that's three decent corners. Picking Davis would be an upgrade but would also have to be done under the pretense of heavily insuring against keeping Howard. If we were going D, I'd almost rather go DT to ensure we're strong up front after Buckner's FA (one more year) and to help ensure we have some depth and insurance in case we can't resign Jenkins (two years).
Trent Smith at TE is my favorite pick of the guys he has left behind Davis, mostly because I can't see Witten being that far behind him.

Using this, if we went FA and then develop, it's pretty hard to figure out the way to go. Lloyd by his ratings goes next, but to me he's the 6th or 7th best guy. Evans is a wildcard with the injury. To me, it's Johnson next. So I'd make Johnson the pick regardless.
Second round would be Palmer at QB, I guess. Third round would either be Ty Warren, the DT, or Witten/Trent Smith, unless the RT situation was really enticing.

I'd be happy with Sammy Davis. He is one cool cat and he sure can sing.

Glass eye suggests he can only play left corner, though.

    1) Ragone
    2) Johnson
    3) Jason Witten TE - Tennessee. I don't know anything about this guy, but I want either a quality TE (I want Mangum gone, and I think Walls will get 'retired'--Witten could back up Wiggin and Heinrich), or a 2nd WR. OT is a possibility, too.

He is dead, but I think he'd still be an improvement over McDaniel.
