To me we would have to seriously look at Larry Johnson if he is there and the top 3 WRs and QBs are gone. If we want Ragone, we should move up from round 2 and try to snag him. Ragone and Johnson would add a lot to this offense. There are also some big name WR in FA this season - with Boston and Price heading the list, so we could go that route to get the WR. LJ is a bigtime player and when we have run the ball this season we have won. We REALLY shouldn't reach in this draft. Take a the best player and maximize the next pick.

I don't wanna make a thread about this because its just my own pitiful idiosyncrasies but their are three things a firmly believe in the NFL.

1.) The Pack don't Lose at home when its below freezing.

    2.) The Panthers are cursed.

3.) Penn State RB's suck in the NFL.

Harris? He's certainly good. IMO the best tackle out there, which is in doubt - some feel Brett Williams is, I guess - but it's also a pick we can't afford to make. An offensive lineman high first round is a luxury when we're starving at so many spots. He'll be coming out, though, and hopefully he'll go before us.

I think at that spot there aren't really any other good receivers. Past the top three it's a ways down to the middle round guys, and Williams or Johnson might still fall.

    Ragone'll be there.

Witten will certainly be there. He'll be a little bit of a reach this high, but he's as well suited to this offense as anyone and as impactive.

Defensive? Hard to say. DT would still, possibly, be a long term need, but the more I think about it the more I'd say we can do that later. Buckner'll have another two or three years to be good, and if he isn't kept after another year when he's a free agent then we'll deal with that then. We can easily plug in any of the millions of other one gap DT that can penetrate across from center.

Corner is possible, though better value is in the third. First round corners have to be man cover players who are either lockdown or very physical, or both in most cases. Weathersby, to me, is very Gary Baxter. Decent in zone, not as physical as his size suggests, not great in man, where we probably wouldn't ask him to do a whole lot of man. And he'll probably be at safety in a few years.

Terrence Newman's tough and fast, but he's not that disciplined nor does he have as much experience. You gotta have discipline to play the C2 underneath. Woolfolk's struggled some and won't be nearing our pick.

We could really get better with a guy like Sammy Davis. We don't need a first there. I'd almost be willing to bring Rashard and Fair back and just see what we have.

Yeah, if we need a back another second will more than do.
