Anybody know how much we've used so far?

Rather, how much is left for Peppers and Foster *fasani*?

It seems tighter from a rookie cap standpoint than a salary cap standpoint.

Don't know if this is what you two cap wizards are looking for, maybe this can help.

It isn't updated to include Peppers, but maybe with the raw numbers you have, you might be able to get close on what we have left.

Its hard to figure right now because we don't have the breakdowns on Peppers deal for his yearly salaries, Just figuring his bonus money and the other 6 signed rookies we have spend $3,578,140 and we are allocated $5,078,000

EDIT - You included Pepp's bonus in that figure.

We seem to have the space. Pepp's first year salary should be small, what with the $13 mil check.

Actually we have a little more then I figured earlier. Peppers bonus is split into two years. So lets say it $8.0M this year and $5.0m next year. Peppers rookie cap portion would be 1/7th. of the first bonus plus his first year salary.

Fasani just counted about another $300k.

But we should still have around $1 million to sign Foster - should be an easy thing to do.

Observer had this about Pepper's 1st year salary:

His first-year base salary will be $3 million. His base salary drops to $350,000 in 2003 and increases by $250,000 in each following year. Those base salaries will increase substantially if Peppers meets the escalators, which would trigger roster bonuses later in the deal.

That's huge!! That seems like it would use up Deshaun's portion of the rookie cap.

    hmmm.

Fundamentally speaking thats got to be innaccurate. It goes against every contract I've ever seen to have the big hit ($3.0M) in the first year. That would put his rookie cap hit at about $4.4m???????
