    Brown was not drafted to replace Johnson, he was drafted to replace Peppers.

    I get that, but I think it was stupid to draft that way when we had a capable replacement on the roster, meanwhile we miss out on a DT like Moala, I wouldn't be as mad if we had traded away a future first to fill an actual need.

    EDIT: Thelt, remember when we coined the term 'Theltdown' because you freaked out so badly about not just taking otah but instead taking stewart (when we already had a capable back) then trading back up for Otah? Why the sudden change? Well, we already have a capable DE to take over when peppers leaves.

    Well yeah he (edit: Brown) was drafted to replace Peppers, when they weren't positive Peppers would not be here. Hedge, big time, and at the expense of another position. DT, QB, WR, take your pick (although so far, they have shown themselves to be incapable of drafting impact WRs).
