Oh, I get what your saying, pass on Adams altogether and take Alexander and wait till 5.

Hurney put himself out there again with the G and Alex. We'll see how this plays out but i believe these are better players than AE and EB

Trading future picks is ok if it's done occasionally, and like this. I have MUCH less a prob trading a future 3rd to move into round 4 than I do trading a future 1 or 2.

If Frank the Tank turns out to be a starting caliber DE and goes for 6-10 sacks a year it's a pure genius move. If he's a third down guy hat gets you some sacks and pressures in passing situations its still a good move. Frankly (no pun intended) he intrigues me...a 6-4/270 guy with good quickness, long arms....the kind of guy the Giants stock up on.

Then why don't good teams do it at all? You see the same teams trading future picks, and it's always teams like Carolina or Oakland. Teams like NE & Philly trade current picks to move up, but they don't trade future picks.

Talked to an Oklahoma fan who likes Frank and thinks he'll contribute, although not as a starter.

When teams trade future picks, the value assigned is normally about mid round. That would be giving too much to teams that are consistently in the play-offs. It takes 2 teams to work a trade.

Trading future picks is ok - if you keep doing it every year and the "bill" never comes due.

Trading any future pick is a risk. You have to look at it like this: if this guy lives up to being worth a 3rd round pick the trade is worth it. Id say a good rotational guy and solid ST player, or a good sulituational pass rusher would be sufficient. But as our humble in house draft guru alluded to Hurney doesnt have the best track record at this.
