Ten cities vie to host 2012-16 Final Fours

Indianapolis and New Orleans are among 10 cities that submitted bids Wednesday to host the 2012-16 men's Final Fours.

In the running again are San Antonio, which hosted this year's final won by Kansas; Detroit, the 2009 host; Houston (2011); and Indianapolis (2010), which has held more Final Fours than any other city -- five.

Phoenix is the only city looking to hold its first Final Four. Atlanta, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Arlington-Dallas-Fort Worth are the other prospective hosts.

Finalists will be announced in August and the five winning cities will be revealed in November

THE BOTTOM LINE: I think Indy automatically gets 2 Final Fours every 10 years since they are based out of the Circle City, so realistically 4 of the above mentioned cities will get picked.

I say the winners will be: Phoenix, Arlington (Cowboys new Stadium), Atlanta, & New Orleans.

    Why not . . . .

    1) Minneapolis-Unless the State of MN builds the new $1 billion retractable roof stadium for the Vikings, their bid won't win

    2) St. Louis, Detroit recently hosted FINAL FOURS, so I think they will have to wait awhile longer to host it again.

New Orleans will get a chance to host the FINAL FOUR to help the city out in the post Katrina effort to get folks to visit the city.

I wish they would quit awarding the thing to domes. I know it's for the money but really, can those folks sitting in the nosebleeds actually tell their at a basketball game? I'd rather see the FF in an arena but those days are long gone I guess. The Official Dome of the NCAA! CHA-CHING!

What sucks is the money the NCAA rakes in at the actual site is peanuts compared to their TV revenue, but money is money all the same I guess. I agree that the basketball atmosphere suffers tremendously in a dome.
