#1 Overall Pick 2011 - Cam Newton (now also 2011 Offensive Rookie Of The Year)

i see good things for cam. mcshay is making a big deal about him being not as fast as mv, but he's bigger, stronger, and he has that same escapability, and that burst and body control. you can't give the wr's that extra few seconds. he's going to open things up for us big time. if he takes this seriously, which it seems he takes football seriously, he's going to be huge trouble for every team we face. lots of the plays from last yr featuring jimmy running backwards and to his right - only god know what's gonna happen when cam is back there, when it turns to playground ball, but that's when he's light yrs ahead of anyone he's ever been around. hell, i'm excited. he's got the potential to make just about everyone in the pros look as retarded as he made folks look in college. he's only got to get the ability to do some of what pocket qb's do, enough to keep the d honest, for a while. idk, lots of folks harping on the down side, well this is the upside - superstar, motherfucking superstar, right here on our team. and another thing, if he shows that potential, starts getting some highlights - we're going to be the new beneficiary of '15 yard penalty for waving your hands too close to cam newton... late hit...roughing the passer... be nice to be on that end of things for once.

 

All this is why I was willing / happy for the team to take the risk. We'll see.
