What does dukey's spelling ability have to do with the fact that Duke needed a half-court shot at the buzzer to beat Virginia Tech at home? All credit to the Blue Devils for actually winning the game, but let's remember that VT lost to 2-4 Bowling Green. They're not a good team by any stretch of the imagination, so if they almost beat Duke at home, isn't that pretty much the definition of overrated? Or to put it another way, if Texas had needed a hail mary pass as time expired to beat Colorado in the Big XII championship game, wouldn't that have implied that Texas as the #2 team in the nation was overrated?

Duke won, and congrats on that, but it doesn't change the fact that this result strongly suggests that they're overrated.

Speaking of ACC hoops, the unspoken fear of every Carolina fan is not that they'll lose twice to Duke this year. We expect that, although we hope for better. The fear is that we lose to State (or at least that's my nightmare). Not even the Kentucky game has banished that fear from my mind, at least not yet.

    suckit:
And if you ask me, I don't think there is any question at all that Illinois is overrated. In fact, I think Seth Davis said as much this weekend.

1--Dukey is a dope. That is a given.

2--VT's performance could also suggest they played the best game they will play all year, given they had a chance to beat Duke at Duke. A definition of overrated is Duke losing at home to NC A&T or JC Smith or even Davidson. Give credit to VT for playing great, but one close call does not define overrated, IMO.

Which means Illinois is an overrated team that beat UNC, which means Kentucky is overrated too. I'd better go check that Kentucky thread to see if anyone brought that up.
