Of course, those two didn't ask for more money or have attitudes but they also weren't insanely talented defensive tackles. We'll be very hard pressed to see a jenkins or peppers on our side of the ball again for years and years. And we had both. I was ready for him to go, because it seemed like the only thing to do - he was a distraction, mostly. The weight didn't bother me (seeing him tail off at the end of the year this year is concerning, now).
But I'd have been willing to deal with it to not suck at DT, too.

We have our top four. It's not a given we don't keep 5, but it's not a given we do either. I'd like him to stay but if we can scrape together 5 DT that won't blow we might need them.
Certainly, nothing's set in stone either way. I'd like to see him in this scheme. Hey - preseason sorta matters this year again. I mean, we'll go 3-1 again, but how we play will kinda matter.

and I don't see Fiammetta getting much play in the passing game, given that we hardly threw to the backs we have. I figure most of what we do create there with backs will be Goodson.

That said, how do you figure? More that because Hoover dropped balls, that we'd replace him for Fiammetta on those reps?
