They are reporting that the average in the US is $6.04. Since I haven't been to a movie in forever is this about right? For some reason I thought it was higher.

I wonder when they give the average if they average in the matinee's price. That wouldn't seem exactly fair, but that's the ONLY way I can see a number like that.

For about the same price it costs for 2 to go to a movie these days...I can just buy the DVD, watch it at home and get up and go pee whenever I feel like it and not miss anything.

I rarely go to see a movie when it first comes out. 9 dollars seems high when you know in 6 months you can rent it for 3 bucks. That and no way in hell can 2 people go to a movie and get snacks (popcorn, drinks and maybe candy) for < 40.00. To piss them off I sneak in sun flower seeds or dry roasted peanuts. Sure it's the custodian that has to work harder but at least the theature doesn't totally Time Warner Cable me. aka rip me off

I've got to the point that in the summer time I enjoy going to the dive in more. It costs $6 a car load (for 2 movies). You can bring your own food if you want, or there's a snack bar available. In the summer its nice to bring a blankets and sit under the stars and watch. They'll rent you a radio for $1 and they hold your license to make sure you get it back.

There's one here in Stanly County if anyone is interested.

If your interested let me know and I'll help you with directions. I'd recommend it to anyone at least once.
