baseball typcially allows fans that can't get into any other games to get in, plus it'd be during the summer - The cheapest baseball tickets are more affordable than the cheapest football or Basketball (in the new arena) tickets, plus it's during the summer for the most part.

but if we was to get a team- wouldnt it be a nice if we had a unique field-like fenway has the monster. but i still doubt that we will get a team- at least for 10 more years.

Can you imagine P Russ hitting home runs in his hometown ballpark? That would be awesome man.

yup- i could see him 10 years down the road going 3-4 with a hr-batting 5th as a pitcher- and throwing a perfect game for the Charlotte Russes.

No chance Charlotte is even remotely ready for a MLB team this decade. First off, why would the city of Charlotte even want to get involved? Bottom line is that investing in MLB right now is a BAD deal. And I love baseball!! However, as big a fan as I am, I might only be able to attend maybe a dozen games max. Where are the 15K season ticket holders that would attend all 82 games? I just don't see it for Charlotte. Start by moving the Knights to southend before we delve into the world of MLB.

Sadly, I think we're going to learn our lesson of attendance with the Bobcats. I think Bob Johnson and Co. are doing a great job of promoting the team (before even one player is signed!), but still think its an uphill battle.

Too much concern about what other people think about our city. I never understood this.

In another 10-15 years when Charlotte metro population hits 2 million, we will be able to support MLB . . No way we can do that now when you also consider the funding needed to build a new ballpark is tied up in the UPtown Arena. Only when this city gets bigger and folks are more open to having the hotel/motel & rental car tax increased then we can go after MLB .
