    Garnett and Kobe were before the guarenteed 3 year rookie contracts as well, which I feel is the major problem. Someone just needs to convince you that you are a 1st round pick and you get a guarenteed contract, it is easy to see why many kids go for it, wouldn't you in your line of work?
