At least i knew what race she was. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Charlotte did play better this year when Baldwin was the PG(Louisville,S.Illinois). He does need to work on FT's. He reminds me alot of this guy Felton- you may have heard of him- quick, athletic, can't shoot. By the way, I could beat Jason Kidd at h-o-r-s-e and he's a very rich NBA all-star PG.

I just impressed as hell that you spelled h-o-r-s-e right. You missed on c-a-t a few years back.

Well, a guy named Henry Williams may take exception with that. Until Mitch,he was probably the best guard defender to wear a Niner uniform. He could score just a little too. :wink2:

Good point, Henry was the man. But he didn't play point did he? He may have it some, that's been a few beers ago. I guess I didn't specify.

Mitchell Baldwin is somewhat like Squeaky from UAB but the only difference is Mitch's outside shot isn't there.

Squeaky is a pass first shoot 2nd and a good defender. Also, he only shoots when he's open (a la Mugsy).

After watching all these NCAA games this year, there was no way we were going to win any games. Our half court sets are terrible especially when you have Plavich and Brown launching 3s from 24-30 feet. Lutz needs to recruit some players with a good midrange game.

Ahh, the lost art of the mid-range J. Savio, you are so right. I'll probably get criticized roundly for this, but, here goes.

We didn't lose games this year because of our defense. No, it wasn't great, but, we lost when went stretches without scoring. The St. Louis game can't possibly be blamed on the D. Hell, FT shooting cost us in loses more than anything.

Savio is absolutely correct, we simply don't shoot the mid-range J at all. Basden attempted it some, as did Withers. But, our guards camped out behind the line and never thought about it much. I'm a believer in the three (it counts more than two) but, two count more than zero.

If Baldwin wants to be an effective point guard, hit the 15'-17' jumper, I don't care if he ever shoots another three. He could shoot 80% from the line too, that would be helpful.

Note to Plavich: Pump fake and move toward the hoop, not another step back.

That's why I loved Galen Young's game. Basden reminds of that but doesn't have the soft touch Galen has, 15 feet on in. Galen was an excellent defender and had a mid-range game (not much of a 3 threat).

Nobody fucking takes these any more. It's either a three or a drive to the hoop.

The "Duke-ization" of college hoops. I'm going to try and count the number of 12-foot bank shots I see this weekend. I'd bet I can do it without taking my shoes off.
