At least Charlotte has finally been mentioned as being shown on this network. I don't know where he gets the $5000 figure to televised a game though. I think Real had said it was in the $20-25 thousand range.

The network will have much better economies of scale than Real’s team did.

Real, just make sure the home games aren't televised! Home schedule is lame enough next season.

Guess I'll be saving up for digital cable next fall too.

    21-point lead... BLOWN!

Hey math, if it's any consolation to you, when Charlotte defeated Tennessee, 79-76, November 29, 1995, in Knoxville, the 49ers erased a 26-point deficit. They trailed 53-27 at 15:04 before posting the fourth largest comeback of all-time.

    The Top Five comebacks:
    1) Duke - 32 pointvs. Tulane in 1950
    2) Kentucky - 31 points at LSU in 1994
    3) New Mexico State - 28 points vs. Bradley in 1977
    4) Charlotte - 26 points at Tennessee in 1995
    5) Connecticut - 25 points at Pittsburg in 1995

I'm not not going to get into the who is at home thing, we've discussed it before, it's just a tough shoe to chew when someone is playing 17 games to your 13-14 at home and that usually translates to Ws. I don't think there is a 49ers fan out there who would've bet on 10 road wins in any combination this year.

I know we play what's dealt, I've already had that debate with vpkozel to say we (and many other schools) only win cupcake games. I know each team can't be top 100 but that's the perception.

Do you expect me to believe the public will rush in droves to purchase season tickets for just Alabama, Cincy and Memphis and UNC Asheville? Clay Aiken every night wouldn't provide it! The locals won't support it. Don't get me wrong, I'll be there, as I have been since 1976-77. I'm just tired of the toes constantly being stumped. To compete year-in and year-out with the NCAA regulars we're going to have to bite the bullet and somehow schedule 16 home games, to ask any team go 10-3 on the road against any level of competition is nuts.

As for CSET showing home games, fine, for once I'll be able to see a few more Charlotte contests. Does the money equal the lost butts in the seats? The outcry was strong when ticket prices were raised last time (and they're still reasonable compared to other schools, and ones with lesser reputations than Charlotte too) and there's a crunch due to the $$$ lost from switching conferences. I hope the trade off will be seeing a game on TV and a family comes to Halton Arena for the next game and buys tickets the season thereafter.

Now hurry up 6:30, I want to see the pairings! GO NINERS!
