Powerbait that pretty much says it all. We jumped out to an early lead, the game was ugly at times, Withers was once again a stud and we held on to win.

    Plus: :talker:

ECU may not win many cUSA games, again. They have some size and some athletes but they just can't put the ball in the hole. Why don't they go to Malukis more? They had some success with him when he was a freshman. Also, if Cook could just learn to hit (hell he never attempted one outside of 5 feet) a 12 footer he could be good. He is strong and quick and has good moves to the basket. There PG (I forget his name) has jets and puts good pressure on the ball. If they would, well, maybe if they, well, they are not good.

I had a good view of this scene folks, so don't you Butter lovers start your denial crap. During the first half (after Butter's 15th walk) coach took him out of the game. Mitch happened to be coming out of the game at the same time. Mitch went to the hot seat beside Coach Moss. Moss sent Mitch down the line and apparently told him to have Butter come down. Mitch told Butter to go down to the hot seat but Butter ignored him. Moss had to get up (and folks he didn't look pleased about it) andwalk down and talk to Butter about whatever. While Moss was trying to talk to him, Butter was clearly ignoring Benny and even looking around him to watch the game. I didn't think we would see Mr. Johnson the rest of the game. To bad I was wrong. When Butter finally got into the second half action he immediately jacked up a 3. Clank! We got the offensive rebound, Butter gets the ball, jacks up another jumper. Clank! Everyone in my section was ready yank him out if Lutz didn't, well, Lutz did. Lutz also told Butter, "that was bullshit." Butter goes to the bench, Moss goes to Butter and once again Mr. Johnson ignores Benny. What is wrong with this Kid? What is his malfunction? He was playing well at the beginning of the season. Mr. Johnson may be done. Again!

How about Iti's steal and near full length of the floor dribble for some sort of "shot-dunk" ? That was their PG that couldn't catch him. I hope the NBA didn't see that.

Go on with your bad self Clay! To my pleasant surprise the kid did a good job with the anthem. He also had the place partying at the half. I swear the crowd was actually loud and seemed to be having a great time. He can definitely put butts in the seats and that is good enough for me. Does anyone want to buy a bobblehead? :boune:

That was one of the most fun things I've seen at a niner game.

Eddie didn't get credited with a rebound in the second half, that's kind of shocking. Regardless, 2 steals, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 points (on 50% shooting). Eddie also ranks first on our team in hustle plays, but last night, he looked a little slow on Defense. There were a couple of times on transition d he didn't get back as quick as he could. Regardless, as I have said most of the season, he shouldn't come off the floor unless he's exhausted. We don't have anyone who can really replace him. Again, no real plays designed for him, but his moves to get to the basket off the baseline are SICK. He could probably do that all game. He can also hit the 12-15 footer. Not everytime, but he is consistently shooting over 50%. Also, not a 3-pt attempted all game. Start getting him plays, Lutz.

Same goes for withers. We need to have one of them on the court at all times. They will not only come up with big plays, but also control the flow of the game. Demon is 3rd most important for minutes.

Plav played solid. He took good shots all game. That is, honestly, the first time I can say that.

If we had just limited three point shots to the guys who should shoot them, we had a pretty good night last night. Plav 4-10, sager 2-2 and Demon 2-9. Just under 40%. Not great, but good enough. Plus, we didn't shoot so much that we took the rest of our team out of our offense. Demon's were rushed, and not always open, but he had a rush from the last game, I'm sure.

We got the ball to withers, and he got 22. 10 rebounds. He's not going to be something special, he already is.

the only thing I don't like is when he takes jumpers at the top of the key.

Pass it to the wing and get yourself in position down low.

We were laughing too, but it wasn't even the funniest thing last night. That would go to Clay, singing and hopping on one leg, while the girls squealed like, well, girls.

Basden had a good game and has played well most of the year but I am not as big on him as you are. He still seems to worry a bit to much about getting contact when he drives the hole and he still doesn't look comfortable on his jumpers. I do agree that not only Eddie but Butter and Withers should only shoot 3's in emergency situations. Pigford is beginning to put himself in that category.

I won't disagree with that and Coach Lutz seems to agree too.

He did a better job of getting his feet squared. A couple of times he was covered pretty good but made the basket anyway. i don't mind this as long as it is not early in the shot clock. Demon took a couple with a full shot clock and that drives me crazy. Coach scolded him after one such shot early in the 1st half.

I guess I should have read your whole post before i replied. It looks like we agree on a couple of things.

i want him to lead the nation in FG attempts. :xyzthumbs

None of the above... the ugliest shot in college hoops has to belong to that Pace guy from Syracuse. It was painful to even watch him shoot.
