    Here's a thread on what I built.

    http://www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48499

It's a little high-end, but I wanted a couple of things that you prob wouldn't need, like 10/100/1000 networking, S-ATA Hard Drive, and a Gig of RAM.

I do like the MoBo a lot. It saved me money because of the built in S-ATA & S-ATA RAID, and the 10/1000.

CompUSA and lots of stuff for "build your own" and you can check out some empty cases and stuff.

who really gives a fuck about DOS anyway, you can't even use a mouse

I'd rather listen 8-tracks and have to wait for it come back around to hear my favorite song

Actually, you could use a mouse, but I agree with the sentiment... Although all good Windows admins either grew up in Unix or DOS - you gotta know the command-line to really crank, at some point it's all about automation.

Yes, but XP runs them better, so there is no real reason to dual-boot 2k and XP... If the point is to put on another OS so that you can run misbehaving DOS and 16-bit apps, then you are better off putting in a Win98 partition (or better - a copy of Virtual PC running Windows 98).

When is Longhorn due out. If it is soon, what's the use loading up XP unless you need to support it?
