This guy has the tools, size and talent to be special.

    I hope he wants it.

He also needs to understand some things if he wants to be the man. Number one is to act like you've been successful before, even if you haven't. Why did he slap the board after the dunk to get a "T"? And why didn't Lutz jerk him from the game (b/c he doesn't know what discipline is). And also, if he wants to be the man, he needs to not throw the ball out of bounds at the end of a game. Hold it, and show us you can hit some free throws. By the way, we played Delaware St tonight.

    Withers

I went to the Duke Davidson game monday (got freebies) and Deng did the same thing and got a tech. Coach K. didn't pull him.

It's a sad commentary. No such thing as sportsmanship anymore, it's only about how special I can make myself look. I think it's bullshit. Just dunk the fucking ball and play defense. Don't have a seizure on the rim and throw your hands in the air b/c you don't know why they T'd you up.

It's a good thing he had seven offensive rebounds for all the missed shots everyone else had. 41.9% shooting won't beat many teams in C-USA, although the 39.3% 3-point shooting wasn't too poor.

Once again the glaring stat... FREE THROWS 9-19, 47.4%. Delaware State was 14-16, 87.5%.

HP, our free throw shooting is gonna kill us in league play. Those teams know us better and scout us better. They will exploit weaknesses and we have a glaring weakness at the line.

Because he can. Look, I 'm not a fan of theatrics myself but I can give you a long list of players that were "the man" for their college team but were not anything close to being choir boys. Withers isn't here to bake cookies and cure cancer, he is here to win basketball games.

Because Lutz isn't here to bake cookies either. Never take your best player off of the floor unless you absolutely have to. Let him run some extra sprints after practice but let the kid play. Plus, that call will go uncalled more times than it will be called.

He looked better on his FTs last night. I still would like to see him take a couple of dribbles and a deep breath when he steps up to the line but I guess everyone has their own routine.

I don't care who we played Withers has a lot of talent and is by far the best player we have. Without him last night we probably would have lost that game.

I think Withers has the most potential of any player on our team, but this team would rarely ever win without Demon. Even with the occassional brain fart, he's been fantastic. He's what makes our team go. I'm worried about replacing him next year.

Curt is essential for balance though. He's all the more important because he's the only consistent frontcourt threat we have. If someone else would step up a bit, his success wouldnt be so critical to ours. Maybe Martin & EJ will be ready to step up next season and help the man out. And maybe Leemire will get them the ball as a frosh... (one can hope)
