Braves looking at Jacque Jones

Dec. 4 - Jones told the Minneapolis Star Tribune he wouldn't be upset with a trade, something that remains a real possibility as the Twins try to reduce payroll in an effort to re-sign Shannon Stewart and Eddie Guardado. The Braves and Padres are known to have been in touch with the Twins about the centerfielder.
"A couple of years ago, I might have been angry or upset," Jones told the Star Tribune. "I'm at ease now, because I know I've given them everything I have."

Atlanta may be a better trading partner than San Diego, which also has expressed interest, since the Braves have a larger payroll budget and have better starting pitching and middle infield prospects, which the Twins are seeking in return.

If this happens Braves gain = Twins loss. The Twins have erased their big strength by getting rid of Hawkins and Guardado. Now, they want to tap into outfield, where J.J. and Hunter make web gems seem routine. It gives me the small market blues.

 

Rumor has Jones being traded to Arizona for Mike Mantei. Twins desperately need a closer after losing Hawkins and Eddie Guardeo (sp). That and Arizona didn't resign Raul Mondesi
