ABC is not a new term. I heard it as a kid growing up and I am 36. And what you fail to keep getting through your head is that I am not talking about having the same success - I am talking about being consistently good. Dook and State have had MAJOR bad patches that lasted quite a few seasons. UNC's bad patch lasted 2. And you can argue whether it was really only 1. Whether we are out of it can also be debated, but I tend to believe that the hiring of Williams pretty much ends it.

And as for you not going there, that is great - glad you are happy, but it is fairly obvious that you have some sort of psycological reaction to UNC that runs deeper than you being happy you did not go there. Where is sadic when you need him?

As for your 99% theory, let me ask you this. Do you think that all UNC students come from Charlotte, Winston, and Raleigh? It certainly seems so, and that is why you are so wrong. A good number of the guys in my fraternity came from Kinston, Greenville, Farmville, and other rural eastern towns. and had mostly grown up on tobacco farms working their asses off in the hot summer.

That is just one simple example as to why you are so fucking wrong.

the reason there is an ABC club is because nation wide people KNOW who Carolina is... the same can't be said for a lot of the others... yes Duke has also built that base as well, but UNC has been in that position for a number of years... the difference is its the UNC fans versus the ABCers... what's funny is there are nearly as many UNC fans

I did not go to either one of those schools and quite frankly could care less what they do. And quite honestly, I think that you should be aiming higher than playing State and USC. They really have not been that good over the past 10-15 years and they are prolly going to want a 2 for 1. Who would you rather have to get that deal from - Arizona, or NCSU?

Some nice teams, yes, but you don't know what you are getting year to year.

I lived in Chapel Hill for eight years, and graduated from Chapel Hill High School. Chapel Hill is a very nice college town, and a great place to get drunk. However, if a Niner fan asks a Tar Heel about Charlotte basketball, or college basketball in general, or C-USA, they (we) will come away thinking "that arrogant SOB". Any mention of Charlotte Basketball in Chapel Hill (this has been tested) and you get confused looks and "oh, UNCC?" "Are they still in that Sun Belt thing?". Or something to that extent. People are actually shocked when I tell them I went to UNC Charlotte and am a BIG Niner fan. It's like they feel sorry for me.

That said, I have known MANY fine UNC-CH grads, some of whom do feel that UNC-CH is God's gift to higher education, but fine people once you get past that. The arrogance mantra simply comes from many, if not most, Tar Heel fans being ignorant to any basketball league that isn't the ACC.

There are also those heel fans who couldn't find Chapel Hill on a map and simply like 'em 'cause "dem be good when I was a lil tyke in Gastonia". Those are the worst kind, actually, UNC Charlotte grads who are Heels fans are the worst kind, those come next.

I expect UNC-CH grads to be Heels fans, and I enjoy talking hoops with many of them; it would benefit them, and many ACCers in general to comprehend that there are other basketball conferences than the ACC and that people are passionate about all sorts of programs, from UNC-CH to DIII schools.

Let me say first, that is the worst pimp smiley I have ever seen. And I've seen lots of pimp smileys.

We received a home at home from Arizona, so no, we wouldn't do a 2 for 1 with NCSU.

The team I would most like to play in the Carolinas at the present is Wake. I believe they'll repeat as ACC Champs and it would be nice to knock off the ACC's current best.
