I see we smoked the Bulldogs by 27. What's the word for those that went to the game?

The game was a beating from the beginning. The Charlotte team that played tonight could not have beaten Syracuse. I guess there's something to "Playing to the level of your opponent." There was a very nice streak of forced turnovers from our press. Iti fouled out. We as a team had no technicals, they did. And our guys did a TERRIBLE job guarding the perimeter later in the game. Also, they wouldn't let Plavich up for air - although he did get off a few shots. Anything that I left out? Oh, and Basden had a couple of very slick moves!

Close enough Alum. We simply out-talented the Bulldogs in the first half. The stretch for about 3 minutes when UNCA couldn't get the ball past midcourt was impressive, up double digits and everyone was hitting the floor for loose balls and steals. Otherwise a dull game, at least everyone got plenty of minutes and a few combinations that hopefully won't occur in a big game.

I might add it was a poor showing by the Asheville crowd to play in the Civic Center. There were probably 250-300 49ers fans and an equal number of theirs, plus a large (maybe over 100) group of kids on unicycles and their families in the stands. The Bier Garden should be pleased, a good bit of cash was dropped in there today, and there would've been only a handful in the reastaurant otherwise. It was very seasonal to see ice on the rocks and light snow on the ground going up I-40, even if it was a nice 58 degrees in downtown Asheville.

The highlight where we were sitting was watching the kids play American Gladiator behind the goal. And I got to visit with Coach Rose and his wife Eleanor after the game too.

And everyone should get down on their knees and thank God for the Gold Dusters every night. The dance team had larger guts than the Panthers' linemen!

Sounds like we did just enough to get a win. I can live with that. Something tells me Coach will be chewing some ass about the second half execution.

Kudos to UNC-A for matching us in the second half, they could have given up. Sounds like they can shoot the 3 and looks like (from Highpoints pics) they have a big man underneath. They should be fine in their conference.
