I don't dare post this on the other board in fear of being lynched.

While that was a great win, am I the only one worried?
Plav isn't going to drop in a record number of 3's every night, so we need to find other ways to win.

We still haven't guarded anybody. An undersized GW put 80 on us and a "slow out of the gate" Cuse team dropped in 92. I'm not buying into Coach claiming Plav is a solid defender, (hell he said the same thing about Demon last year.) I also do not think that it was a coincidence that Mitch played limited minutes, (I understand why, Plav was hot) and McNamara lit us up like a Christmas tree. Hopefully when Plav is not hitting and we are in a slugfest, coach will have the good judgement to reverse the minutes.

We still aren't going inside as much as I would like. Did anyone else notice Mr. Withers was having his way with Cuse, inside and out? I still think he needs to be our leading scorer for us to go dancing this year. I would go as far as saying, that I would like to see him touch the ball on every offensive possession, unless we are on a fastbreak.

We now have a bullseye on our chest for the Ashevilles of the world to shoot at. I hope our guys don't have a hangover from the great Cuse win. Asheville put up 80 on Iowa so they aint near as bad as A&T.

I was thinking in a similar fashion, BArry. I hope Plavich doesn't get to do what he wants the whole season.

NOt to take anything any from the boys, but Cuse would still beat us 8 out of 10 times, maybe nine. I remember how Demon and Sager had a shadow the rest of the season after their bigger games last early last year. (Demon-App St., Sager-Temple).

Withers' six points late in the game were huge.

I'll be the first to admit that Badsen has improved drastically since last year. Must have been the sophomore jinx.

I could remember on a number of occasions where our big men didn't block out for offensive rebounds. Warrick had his way inside with 4 fouls.

HOpefully this game will make a difference on future road games. 20,000 Orange freaks going crazy by the end of the game, and they didn't blow it. Carbondale, IL and Tuscaloosa won't seem like much after this.

I thought Withers and Warrick pretty much played each other to a draw. Hey, we might have won behind hot shooting, but they were the hot ones in the 2nd half and we still held on. Plus, we did all that with Clemmons logging 11 minutes due to foul trouble (and Iti's good play).

Re: Basden, he is much improved. He is penetrating and dishing or FINISHING....much better around the basket. Anyone else think his knee feels better than it did last year? :D

You make a bunch of good points Barry. We need to play much better team defense to have the kind of season we all want to see. The fact that we did a bunch of things wrong (mainly in the second half) and still won despite playing in a hositle environment and putting ourselves in a spot where we had folded in the past (Indiana 2X) and still won will do wonders for the collective confidence while giving the coaches something to get on their asses about. I hope to hell they are drilling it into their collective heads that Plav will not do that each time out. Bama will be a real test to see where we are...... The thing I agree with most is that we MUST go inside and Curtis needs to get a ton of touches.

    Hey Mikeniner

we are not going to play cuse 10 times this season. In fact they will probably never schedule us again. Its a win man. Take it put it in the bank and lets go.

Gee, I wonder who Ninerdad is a multiple username of? He uses one of Metro's old cusa usernames and uses a subject title in all his replies, just like someone else. Atleast be original.

Don't forget, we did outrebound the Orangemen (of course, we did hit more shots, which gave them fewer chances on the defensive board). I think we'll be ok as long as Plav doesn't think he has to score 30 even when he's having an off-night. If we have a replay of the GW game, bad things can happen.
