I have heard from more than one place that this A10 deal is not the lock we all thought. This is gut check time. I don't even think the powers that be know for sure, at this point, and it is still touch and go. If we end up in one of the conferences that I am fearing, it could get ugly. Pray the A10 comes up with reasonable thoughts and allows us in.

Other than basketball, wouldn't the A10 be a step down for your other sports? I know that UNCC has a pretty decent soccer team (was real good for a while) and baseball team. Don't know about sports other that.

    Is y'all's bball program profitable?

I will say this. We don't lose money in our program. We break even, and make a little from what I understand. We don't have the megabucks to rely on, to gamble. It is very conservatively ran.

our soccer and baseball have been subpar the last couple of years. soccer has no excuse. they have a killer facility, horrid coach. The A10 is OK in baseball, Richmond was top 10 in the country last year, GW is solid, along with Xavier and UMASS. the bottom does suck bad. In baseball, its irrelevant what league you play, look at Wichita.

we need the A10. with our addition, it is as good or even than what CUSA has been, at least from an RPI perspective. It is less sexy without Calipari, Pitino, Crean, and Huggs.

We do pretty good to make money when our teams have to fly across the country for most events. I heard Notre Dame was complaining about travel if they were to move to the ACC. Now, that's BS.

I have heard nothing about this fear Metro's talking about. Metro, please elaborate.

I never dreamed that you guys would end up anywhere but the A-10. I looks like such a perfect fit. Surely you will end up there, it;s the only logical choice. Where on earth would St Louis end up if the A-10 doesn't expand?

not now. Like I said, I am not saying the A10 deal is in jeopardy, I am saying its not a definate like we all have believed. I would still handicap it as most likely to happen. There is still at least one other conference possibility.

Ok, I'll bite. Since you won't mention it, it can't be good.

    Which is it?

    Atlantic Sun?
    Big South?
    America East?
    Colonial?
    Patriot?
    Southland?
WAC? (we could start a rivalry with La. Tech)

Could be the Big East. Maybe I'm 100% WRONG but based on what I've read, it seems that metro would almost like to see our current administration fail, at the expense of the University. That ain't right. We all need to pull together for the good of the school, IMO.
