Last yeard there was only 1 active thread in July, 4 in August, 2 in September and traffic on the smack board didn't start picking up until after the 10/16 MM. All this is based on the last post that month.

During the same time frame this year there were 14 active threads in July, 10 in August and 4 in September.

I expect traffic to again pick back up after MM.

You know it's not always necessary for you to start being a prick everytime I respond to you. Even people who can't stand each other should be capable of civil discourse now and again.

This isn't an argument to me, I was offering you facts about the subject you were speaking on. And the fact is there was more traffic this off season on the Smack board than last.

I was agreeing with you, it wasn't like this last year, it was worse.

And this was part of the discussion at what point? Oh yeah, that would be just now when you decided to change the subject. Since you did, let me respond. Yes, I think TBR will draw traffic from cusatalk. Ninerreport won't in my estimation b/c the boards over there suck. But neither will draw enough away from the other for them not to be able to thrive. I've said on more than one occassion the more boards talking Niner sports the better. I'll participate in them all.

 

the point to this thread Mk is that cusatalk is not what it was. Maybe that is good to you and the mods, but from what I have read, it was better before the split. I don't think cusatalk will die. but it will be slower with two new boards or at least not as busy as it could of been.

 

I'm aware of that. But what I responded to was your incorrect assertion that last off season the Smack forum was more active than this off season.

cusatalk will not even come close to dying, and I'm happy there is a board here and Rivals to talk Niner hoops.

Busy as it could have been no, but it will be very busy none the less. As I hope this board is.

 

Without a doubt, CUSAtalk is not as entertaining since so many of the 49er fans adopted this board as home. As long as CUSA exists as a conference, I see that board as being viable. However, 6 months ago you could look at the Cinn, Charlotte, or Memphis smack boards for a good laugh.....that's not happening now.

I now visit this board to get some of the entertainment that I am missing on CUSAtalk now. There are some sharp minds here that are missed on the other board.....in my opinion.

I'm gonna look back at all the smack posts around the invasion and Metro's banning. I forgot how funny that shit was. I think it's the fourth month of Metro's assasination coming up this Saturday.

 

I was told I would be banned from CUSA-TALK if I ever made any more negative statements about the Observer (supposedly at Mike P's request). Metro was banned because memphis state fans were upset with him & our mods refused to defend him. I think our mods at times let their own egos get in the way of their functional purpose & school loyalty.

That's just my opinion, and we all know the old saying about opinions...
