Had you been reading you would've known Chris Nance was discussed in another thread, however his name wasn't in the title. Am I excited about him? Not particularly, he wasn't not on the radar screens of any 49er fan. I know he didn't play last season, i can only hope he's ready and will contribute next season for Charlotte.

With all due respect to you and any other college basketball fan, I'm leery of comments on recruits. I'll make the judgement myself. How many second comings on someone have you read about only to see a bust a few years later? I can name more than a few 49ers that fit that mold, can you? It's been mentioned how highly touted Tory Reed was, I saw him manhandle Jason Parker in an all-star game in Winston-Salem. I never saw it in the green and white from him though.

The only players I can honestly say who were better than advertised for the 49ers were in the distant past... Chad Kinch and Henry Williams.

Being old school, I can tell you something that former UNCC coach Mike Pratt told me when he was still an assistant, "No player out there is as good as his press."

Good post. I did see his mention in another post; however, I'd like to see more talk about the team etc... I understand the issues that dominate the boards, I just get tired of mainly seeing them.

Unfoutunately some poeple got all bent out of shape at CUSA-Talk, people got banned and other stopped posting and so on. Idealy I'd like to see the CUSATalk form get back to the way it was where the team and dogging other schools are the main topics, with all banned members participating because they do bring quality to the table. This forum is perfect for the no holds barred stuff that got everyone so pissed over there. I'm not saying that this be the bitching board, rather one where you post what you want when you want to understanding that there should be no tears. It just seems to me that we had a bunch of posters that had some good info really don't come around as much for some reason.

I have no idea who all is banned at cusa talk, but they should all be cleared of any "wrong doing" and let back in to talk about hoops. We have enough alternatives to ensure we have a spot to talk about what ever it is that needs to be talked about.

 

I see what you're saying s9er. The other one has become even more restrictive since I was sent packing. I'm not bitchin' about that, I openly expected it but the same double standard still applies that I complained about then. Anything remotely "controversial" goes to the Niner smack board and it remains on the other main board forums to incite.

Most everyone at TBR knows how things work here. If they don't, they soon learn it's pretty much no holds barred. I fully expect the banther to be strong and vocal over here at times during the season and perhaps more than I want to read. There is good "discussion" on TBR between the Dukies/Wolvies/ABCers and UNC Chapel Hill fans now and 49ers fans now get to throw and take punches with them too. I have to accept the bad with the good and I truly believe there is more good than bad on ThisBoardRocks.com. The posters do a ood job of policing ourselves now.
